Age-related diseases are diseases which occur more and more frequently with a higher age. They result from cumulative molecular and cellular damage that occurs in the course of life for everyone. In the case of cancer, the risk increases even exponentially.
Among the most common age-related diseases are:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Cancer (the vast majority)
- Type 2 diabetes
- Parkinson’s disease
- Vascular Dementia
- Macular Degeneration
Frailty is classified as a syndrome rather than a disease.
